It will take place on Thursday August 11, for the entire day, from 9am to 6pm EDT (UTC-4). The main organizers are Drs Guilherme Fians (University of St Andrews, Scotland) and Mark Fettes (Simon Fraser University, Canada). Everyone is welcome to attend the lectures and participate in the public debate. In addition to the conference, CED will also hold a public meeting on Friday August 12.
The conference will have three parts: (1) a celebratory session in honour of the 70th anniversary of CED; (2) two sessions of lectures and papers; (3) a public debate or round table, open to all, on accepting (or rejecting) Esperanto as a subject of scientific study.
Ĝi okazos ĵaŭdon, la 11-an de aŭgusto, la tutan tagon, de 9h00 ĝis 18h00 EDT (UTC-4). Ĉeforganizas ĝin d-roj Guilherme Fians (Universitato Saint Andrews, Skotlando) kaj Mark Fettes (Universitato Simon Fraser, Kanado). La organizantoj bonvenigas al ĉiuj ĉeesti la prelegojn kaj partopreni la publikan debaton. Aldone al la konferenco okazos ankaŭ publika kunsido de CED, vendredon, la 12-an de aŭgusto.
La konferenco okazos en tri partoj: (1) festsesio honore al la 70-jariĝo de CED; (2) du sesioj pri prelegoj kaj referaĵoj; (3) publika debato/ronda tablo, malfermita al ĉiuj, pri la akcepto (aŭ malakcepto) de Esperanto kiel studobjekto de la sciencoj.
