In the 40th year of existence of Monato, to honour its late editor-in-chief Paul Gubbins, the magazine instituted the Paul Gubbins Award for New Journalistic Talent. Every year, a main prize of 250 euros is awarded, along with a second and third prize of 100 euros and seven free subscriptions to Monato, for the best articles written directly in Esperanto for the magazine. Okaze de la 40-jara ekzisto de MONATO, kaj por memorigi sian ĉefredaktoron Paul Gubbins, la revuo starigis la Premion Paul Gubbins por Nova Ĵurnalisma Talento. Ĉiujare estos aljuĝata ĉefpremio de 250 eŭroj, dua kaj tria premio de 100 eŭroj kaj sep senpagaj abonoj de MONATO, por la plej bonaj artikoloj verkitaj rekte en Esperanto por la revuo.
